UV DTF / BENCH NOTES

UV DTF artwork preparation

Prepare UV DTF transfers at finished size: transparent artwork, 300 ppi and normal orientation. Use individual files or a complete 22-inch-wide sheet.

Your print-ready checklist

  • Measure the actual object and choose the finished design dimensions.
  • Use transparent PNG or print-ready PDF where possible; set raster artwork to 300 ppi at final size.
  • Keep normal reading orientation. Do not mirror.
  • Keep standalone lines and fine detail at least 0.02 in (about 0.5 mm) thick.
  • For a sheet, use a 22-inch-wide canvas and a listed length, with at least 0.25 in between designs.
  • Remove template guides, check spelling and repeats, and retain your editable source.

Final dimensions and fine detail

Individual transfers are priced at $0.10 per square inch, with width and height up to 22 in each. Record both width and height so proportions stay intact. A 3 × 2 in design is 900 × 600 pixels at 300 ppi; increasing a low-resolution file’s pixel count does not restore missing detail.

Check small lettering, isolated dots and strokes at finished size. Use at least 0.02 in (about 0.5 mm) for standalone detail, and simplify fragile elements. Measure curves, seams and the usable area on the actual object before choosing a size.

Formats, transparency and orientation

Individual artwork files can be PNG, PDF, PSD, AI/EPS, SVG or JPG, up to 100 MB per file. Finished-sheet files can be PNG, JPG/JPEG, SVG, PDF, PSD or AI/EPS, up to 500 MB. Transparent PNG and print-ready PDF are the preferred final formats; raster artwork should be 300 ppi at the intended printed dimensions.

A white rectangle is part of the artwork, not transparency. JPG cannot preserve a transparent background: remove unwanted backgrounds in your source and export to PNG or a suitable PDF. Keep crisp edges; remove soft shadows and effects that fade into transparency. Outline text or embed required fonts and linked artwork in a PDF.

Keep designs facing the way they should read on the object. Do not mirror. Reopen the export to check the background, dimensions and orientation before submission.

Sheet sizes, spacing and a worked layout

Gang sheets are 22 in wide, with lengths of 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84 or 120 in. Builder and finished-sheet upload use the same sheet sizes and prices. Keep artwork inside the canvas and leave at least 0.25 in between artwork edges for cutting.

Example: a 22 × 12 in sheet is 6600 × 3600 pixels at 300 ppi and costs $12.99. Six 3 × 3 in designs in two rows of three occupy 9.5 × 6.25 in with 0.25 in gaps. Check the full sheet export, including the unused area; the price covers the complete sheet.

Builder and finished-sheet upload produce equivalent printed UV DTF sheets at the same sheet prices. Start with separate files when you want to arrange the layout; use upload when the layout is complete. Multiple different designs can also be ordered individually by size.

Adapt a file from another supplier

  1. Check that the canvas is exactly 22 in wide and one of these lengths: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84 or 120 in. A 22.3-inch or 24-inch supplier template needs a new canvas; do not shrink the whole sheet and accidentally resize the designs.
  2. Restore each design’s intended width and height. Check raster detail at 300 ppi.
  3. Use at least 0.25 in between designs. Remove supplier guides, labels and backgrounds.
  4. Export a transparent PNG or print-ready PDF, within the 500 MB finished-sheet limit, without mirroring.
  5. Reopen the export and count all repeats.

A matching extension does not guarantee a compatible layout. If only a preview remains, return to the original artwork where possible. Ask for help with a specific file; include its dimensions, format and the issue you see.
