UV DTF / BENCH NOTES

UV DTF application, surfaces and care

Clean, position, rub and peel—no heat press. Test the actual hard surface first, then wait at least 24 hours before washing the decorated item.

Choose and test the surface

UV DTF is a transfer process for compatible hard surfaces, applied without a heat press. Smooth, non-porous areas are the usual starting point. Glass, coated metal, acrylic and glazed ceramic are common project candidates; their coatings and finishes still need checking.

Test the actual item before a batch. Texture, porosity, flexible areas, tight curves and surface coatings can prevent reliable contact. A material name alone does not establish compatibility. Do not use UV DTF as an apparel transfer.

Keep decorations away from food-contact areas and drinking rims. Food-contact suitability, dishwasher safety and outdoor longevity have not been established for this offer.

Position, rub, peel

Follow the instructions supplied with your transfer if they differ from this guide. You need the transfer, a compatible object, a lint-free cloth and a smooth squeegee or card.

  1. Clean and dry: remove dust, grease and residue with mild soap and water. Let the surface dry completely. Use a 50/50 rubbing-alcohol-and-water mix only if the object’s finish allows it; test the cleaner first.
  2. Rub before separating: separate the design from a sheet if needed. On a flat surface, rub firmly across the carrier 2–4 times, paying attention to small details.
  3. Remove the backing: peel slowly and watch that the whole design stays on the clear carrier. If a detail stays behind, lay it back down and rub that area again.
  4. Position: align before contact. For a larger design, work from one side across the object to avoid trapping bubbles or folding the film. Do not stretch the carrier.
  5. Rub and peel: rub the applied design firmly 2–4 times, then peel the carrier back slowly, close to the surface. If part lifts, lower the carrier, rub that area again and continue carefully.
  6. Let it rest: wait at least 24 hours before washing. Keep the decorated area dry during that period.

Use room-temperature, dry surfaces. Do not use apparel heat settings or add heat to force adhesion.

Care for the decorated item

Wait at least 24 hours after application before the first wash. Hand wash or wipe gently with mild soap and a soft cloth, then dry without scraping the design. Follow the object manufacturer’s care instructions too.

Do not soak, use abrasive pads or harsh cleaners, or expose the decorated area to high heat. Keep decorated items out of the dishwasher. No dishwasher safety, food-contact suitability or measured outdoor lifespan is claimed.

If an application does not go as expected

Small details stay on the backing: lower the layers into place, rub the carrier again and peel slowly while watching the design.

Artwork lifts with the top carrier: lower the carrier, rub the affected area and peel back slowly. Stop if the design continues to lift; do not add heat or chemicals.

Bubbles or wrinkles: avoid pulling or stretching the film. On the next test, align first and apply from one side. Surface curvature and uneven contact can affect the result.

Edges lift later: note the surface finish, texture, cleaning method, waiting period and exposure to water or heat. A symptom alone does not establish the cause.

Unexpected marks or missing detail: compare an unused transfer with your supplied file before applying more.

Keep unused transfers and packaging. Contact DTF One with the order number, order email, affected quantity, object material and finish, application steps and clear photo links. See issue-reporting guidance. The form accepts written details and photo links.
